The Law Offices of Chaffin Chaffin and Giaimo
Randy is a Cookeville native, having lived here all of his life. He graduated from Cookeville High School in 1982, and then from Tennessee Tech with a degree in Finance in 1986. He worked for the Bank of Putnam County for a few years, and began law school in 1988. He graduated from the Nashville School of Law in 1991, and practiced with the law firm Cameron and Chaffin until 2002. Randy then branched out and opened his present practice, now Chaffin, Chaffin & Giaimo, in July 2002.
Randy practices General Law, which includes the areas of Divorce and Child Custody, Domestic Relations, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Criminal Defense, and Wills and Estates. He has extensive trial practice, having tried numerous Civil and Criminal cases throughout the Upper Cumberland.
Randy married his wife, Stephanie, in 1995. They have two children, Scott and Molly, a senior and sophomore at Cookeville High School. The Chaffin family has been in this area since the 1700’s, and has extensive relatives throughout the Upper Cumberland.
While at TTU, Randy played baseball, and stays active now by riding daily as an avid road cyclist. He rides with a group affectionately known as “The Big Turtles”, an eclectic group that has been together for years. Randy is a Deacon at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ, and teaches the college-age class usually once a year. Randy is also on the Board of Directors at the Happy Haven Group Home for Girls.
Randy is admitted to practice law in the state courts of Tennessee, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Randy is a member of the Putnam County Bar Association, and also a past president. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and also the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
